Crystal Clear Waters
For their size the Maltese Islands have more shore and boat dive sites within its small radius than any other island group or resort. Malta was voted the 3rd best dive destination in the World in 2008. With over 280km of coast surrounding Malta, Gozo and Comino, H2O Divers knows the best spots.
For Recreational Diving our clear, calm, warm water with its lack of significant tides makes the Maltese Archipelago a diving delight. There are plenty of dive sites easily accessible for all levels of divers. The development of a number of artificial reefs has provided an even wider variety of diving experience. Beautiful wall and reef dives, stunning caverns, awesome wrecks, boat or shore, shallow or deep the variety means you will never be bored.
For exactly the same reasons Malta is an ideal place to learn to dive. Whether you are a novice or an experienced diver the wide range of Recreational Diving Courses will provide something to suit or challenge you. And why not do it in our warm, clear Maltese waters!
Malta is renowned for producing competent dive professionals. At H2O Divers we are sure your participation in the Professional Diving Courses on offer (Divemaster and Instructor) would be so much more enjoyable in our beautifully clear waters. Pro courses are conducted throughout the year.
The creation of Marine Protected Areas around Malta has seen a significant increase in the amount and variety of marine life. The bonus is you can usually see things so clearly and therefore enjoy it so much more!
Swimming
The Maltese coastal waters are generally clean and safe for swimming as there are no tides. Some bays are exposed to north and north-easterly winds which do produce some strong undercurrents at times.
Sun Bathing
The Maltese Archipelago lies virtually at the centre of the Mediterranean and has a latitude more southerly than that of northern Tunisia. You are therefore advised to take precautions to ensure you avoid over exposure to the sun. Even in winter it is advisable to wear a suitable factor sunscreen for your skin type. This is important if you are out walking, or taking part in water sports
